Drink-drive cop to face misconduct hearing next week

A DRINK-driving detective is to face a misconduct hearing after swerving around the A19 in a Mini Cooper.
Detective constable Andrea Murphy-King will be the subject of an Accelerated Misconduct Hearing next week.
She faces two allegations of breaching the standards of professional behaviour that are “so serious they amount to gross misconduct”, says a notice on the Cleveland Police website.
The public notice outlines the two allegations:
■Allegation one - on November 4, 2024, DC Murphy-King drove a motor vehicle after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in her breath exceeded the legally prescribed limit, specifically, 71 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath with the legal limit being 35.
