British Steel set to hire 180 staff across its sites

RECRUITMENT DRIVE COMES AFTER RECENT GOVERNMENT RESCUE BID

BRITISH Steel has created a number of jobs on Teesside having set out to increase production in the coming months.

Following the Government's decision to intervene in the business, rescuing its two blast furnaces at the Scunthorpe steelworks, British Steel has starting recruiting for 17 jobs across its Lackenby and Skinningrove sites.

A further 165 jobs have been created at Scunthorpe.

Announcing the move, British Steel said it has secured the raw materials to maintain a two-blast furnace operation and will significantly increase iron and steel production in the coming months.
