DSWD targets over 1,600 residents for Sustainable Livelihood Program

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) targets over 1,600 Cebu City residents this 2025 to avail of its Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) with a special focus on seed capital and hunger mitigation.

DSWD VII Regional Director Shalaine Marie Lucero, who met with Mayor Nestor Archival to present the program’s accomplishments, said the 2025 plan marks a renewed commitment to scale what works.

Lucero emphasized that the most impactful projects continue to be small-scale reselling, rice retailing, and food enterprises—businesses rooted in everyday community needs.

With Cebu City’s population steadily growing and diversifying, both DSWD and the LGU see this year’s program as an opportunity to bridge service gaps and reinforce social safety nets.
