FORMER FIRE STATION OPENS ITS DOORS AS LUXURY ESCAPE

- By SIMON DUKE

City's new hotel is hot stuff

THE wow factor arrived in Newcastle in abundance at the weekend, with the opening of Hotel Gotham in the heart of town.

What looks like being Tyneside’s most in-demand place to stay has seen the old Fire Station on Pilgrim Street transformed.

And over the past couple of years, a huge amount of work has been going on behind the scenes to turn the Fire Station into a decadent escape.
