POWER SURGES TO 200/1 SHOCK

POWERFUL GLORY became the longest-priced winner of a Group 1 in the British Champions Sprint Stakes at Ascot.

Richard Fahey's raider was a totally overlooked 200/1 shot for the six-furlong contest after failing to match his high-class juvenile form so far this year.

The speedster was held up in mid-division by Jamie Spencer as Lazzat (2/1 Fav) made a bold bid from the front to repeat his win in the Jubilee here in June.

The leader shot clear two out but Spencer is a dab hand on this straight track and he delivered his partner perfectly to nail his rival by a neck.
