Esselink wants to get game time for Terrors

BERT ESSELINK is hell-bent on making up for lost time by helping Dundee United into the group stage of the Conference League.

The new defender has previously been involved in qualifiers with APOEL Nicosia - but only played around one minute.

He was in the squad and on the bench but his only action came as a late sub to see out a 0-0 draw with Kyzylzhar Petropavlovsk.

The 25-year-old now hopes to be in the thick of United's Euro charge, which starts next month against Luxembourg minnows UNA Strassen.
