SNP HAVE FAILED PRISON SERVICE AND PUT IT IN STATE OF PERMANENT CRISIS

UNDER the SNP, Scotland’s prison service is in a state of permanent crisis.

They have dismally failed to build the new prisons required, or expand capacity. Their failure to support staff has led to unacceptable disorder. There have been recent disgraceful breaches of the rules by a minority of staff.

The hard-pressed majority of decent prison officers have to contend with a system at breaking point, a lack of resources and constant threats to their safety.
