RUSS: NO JOBS FOR THE BOYS

Scottish Daily Express

|

October 02, 2025

RUSSELL MARTIN insists the decision to appoint Kevin Thelwell's son Robbie as Rangers' new head of recruitment is not a case of 'jobs for the boys'.

- ANDY NEWPORT

The already-furious Light Blue legions have reacted with fresh anger after it emerged Thelwell Jr will be joining his old man at Ibrox.

The 26-year-old has worked as a scout for Premier League clubs Wolves and Aston Villa and will make the move to Glasgow after a stint as Norwich City's head of technical scouting and loan management.

Ibrox sources insist the decision to hire the son of the club's sporting director - himself under fire after the stuttering start made by many of the club's summer signings - followed a thorough recruitment process to fill the vacancy for a new head of player recruitment role.
