STEVE CLARKE has opened the door to Newcastle star Harvey Barnes joining Scotland's World Cup party.
Clarke plans to contact the Burnley-born winger's advisers early in the New Year to reopen discussions about changing international allegiance, having been capped once by England.
The national boss appears willing to fast-track a player who qualifies through Scottish grandparents into his 26-man squad as he prepares for group games against Haiti, Morocco and Brazil in the United states next June.
And he believes Barnes would be welcomed into the group - just as striker Che Adams was when he made the switch ahead of the Euros in 2021.
