WHAT would you say was the plural of the word “breakfast”?

For me, speaking as something of a traditionalist, the plural of “breakfast” has always been “breakfasts” — ie. the same word, only with an S on the end.

And yet that’s not what TV presenter Josie Gibson apparently calls more than one breakfast.

It’s taken me a little while to spot this, but for Josie the plural of “breakfast” appears to be “breakfasses”.

That's certainly what she’s been saying each week on AROUND THE WORLD IN FIRST CLASS,

I've ever seen in my life!” Josie exclaims to us all.
