ADAM IDAH gave the shush celebration to Republic of Ireland fans after bagging the winner against Bulgaria.

But his task is now silencing any Celtic fans who still have some doubts about the enigmatic £9million striker.

There's no debating Idah's solid numbers for the Hoops. He has scored 14 goals for them this season - including three in the Champions League - despite making just 19 starts.

But it's the fact he hasn't nailed down the centre-forward slot despite Kyogo Furuhashi's exit for Rennes that has those doubts creeping back in.

Not from his manager, it has to be said. Brendan Rodgers has always said he sees Idah as a rough diamond that still requires some polishing.

He has made Daizen Maeda his go-to striker in recent months and the Japanese star's form has made him undroppable.
