Engineer jailed for ‘burn asylum hotels’ riot post

AN engineer who urged people to set fire to asylum hotels during last summer's Southport riots has been jailed for 15 months — a week after a prosecution bungle saw him released from custody.
Just as an anti-immigration demo erupted in violence outside a hotel for asylum seekers in Rotherham on August 4 last year, Joseph Haythorne, 26, posted a message on X saying: “Go on Rotherham. Burn any hotels with them scruffy b******s in it.”
It was viewed by 1,100 people in 17 minutes before he deleted it.
