Abusive husband went on to murder his wife

AN NHS worker murdered his wife just weeks after a domestic abuse case against him collapsed.

Kasikai Chinyanga killed Veronica Chinyanga as she begged for her life in the garden of their home.

The 42-year-old mother had earlier predicted her husband may not forgive her for reporting him to police for assault.

Stabbed

Mrs Chinyanga was repeatedly struck with a pronged garden tool and then stabbed in the stomach with a knife.

The 47-year-old killer was described as “calm” moments after carrying out the assault in Broxburn, West Lothian.

Yesterday, at the High Court in Glasgow, he pled guilty to murder and now faces a life sentence.

The couple moved to Scotland in 2008 from Zimbabwe.

They had a teenage son together and Mrs Chinyanga's 20-year-old daughter also lived with them. Her husband worked in finance for the NHS and was training to be an accountant at the time of the killing.
