DAN BURN has told Thomas Tuchel he would be prepared to play in goal for England if it allowed him to keep his World Cup dream alive.

The 33-year-old shrugged off a broken hand to make the bench for last Thursday's 3-0 friendly win over Wales and has put himself forward for selection against Latvia in Tuesday's qualifier.

Burn has been playing left-back and centre-back for Newcastle and is keen to add to his three England caps.

When asked if he cares where he plays, the defender said: "I will play goalkeeper if the manager asked!

"I just want to be on the pitch, I have waited so long to be an England player, I just want to make the most of it.

"It is a great honour for me to be given the chance to represent my country, and something I never thought I'd be able to do. So every time I come to Wembley and wear the shirt is a proud moment."
