Thug jailed for punching pal after row over jacket and cash

A Paisley thug has been jailed after he repeatedly punched “a friend” to the face and tried to rob him.
Ross McLeod barged into the male's flat in the homeless accommodation unit in the town’s Abercorn Street on January 8.
McLeod, who was also living at the homeless unit, repeatedly punched his victim, dug his fingers into the man’s neck and demanded the man gave him money and a jacket.
But the 45-year-old claimed he was actually the victim of a theft as the jacket and money he was demanding actually belonged to him.
Procurator fiscal depute Michael Cunningham told Paisley Sheriff Court the male and McLeod had been in each other's company within McLeod's flat, on January 6.
Mr Cunningham explained: “On January 8, the male returned to his flat around 4pm.
“The accused then attended at the door and began to bang on the door and shout.
“The male opened his flat door and at this time, the accused barged in.
