Marinakis aiming high as Forest battle to stay in the top flight

CLUB owner Evangelos Marinakis has made clear his sense of ambition remains undimmed, despite Nottingham Forest currently being in the thick of a relegation battle.

The Reds go into 2026 only four points above the Premier League's bottom three places on the back of a three-match losing streak. Tuesday night's drab 2-0 defeat at home to Everton prompted audible boos around the City Ground at the final whistle.

It is a far cry from 12 months ago, when Forest were competing at the other end of the table. They went on to secure European football for the first time in three decades but this season has so far not panned out as hoped, with Sean Dyche becoming the club's third manager of the year in October.

In a New Year message to Reds fans, Marinakis said via a social media post from the club: “We should all reflect on how far this club has come and how much has been achieved in only a short space of time.
