Macari ready to make his mark after challenging time out

HAVING lost months of this season to injury, Lewis Macari spoke of his determination to finish strongly and become a key player for Notts County in the years to come.

The 23-year-old was out with an injury between Boxing Day and the first day of March, the longest lay-off he has had yet in his young career.

Experiences like that may not be positive in the moment but they are character-building. Macari has had patience and restraint during his rehabilitation and then a determination to get back into the team after his recovery.

"It’s the longest I've had to sit out in my career so far,” said the defender.

“I've had a couple of minor injuries in the past but nothing to the extent of a couple of months.
