STALKING VICTIM JEREMY VINE WANTS BELFIELD TO 'RETHINK' HIS LIFE WHEN HE IS RELEASED

ALEX Belfield's victims are in “trepidation” months away from the convicted stalker’s prison release.

Belfield, of Mapperley, was jailed in September 2022 after a campaign of stalking in which he targeted two BBC presenters, a videographer and a theatre blogger.

Well-known BBC broadcaster Jeremy Vine, who previously told the Post that he'd considered coming off social media after the conclusion of Belfield’s trial, now hopes the stalker can “rethink” his life before it’s too late.

But one of the women covered by an indefinite restraining order against Belfield fears “he won't be able to help himself” when he leaves jail.

The former BBC radio presenter was sentenced to a total of five years and 26 weeks, with the court making it clear at the time that he would serve half in prison and the other half on licence.

It means that Belfield is set to be released from Fosse Way Prison, Leicestershire, in June.
