BOSS QUESTIONS ATTITUDE OF SOME SENIOR PLAYERS IN LOSS TO UNITED U21S

- By SAM ALLEN

IT seems some Notts County players on the fringes of the league selection missed their latest chance to impress Martin Paterson as the Magpies exited the Vertu Trophy.

Notts lost 2-0 at Meadow Lane to Manchester United U21s on Tuesday, with Paterson making a number of changes to the strong team that ultimately disappointed in defeat to Brackley Town in the FA Cup last weekend.

Some were in to build match minutes coming back from injuries, and others were given a chance to show why they should come into the boss's thinking more for the league games to come, but it was ultimately a disappointing watch from the dugout.

"It's disappointing to lose the game," admitted Paterson.

"And you never want to be out of any cup competition. I think you can see from the selection that I wanted to give people an opportunity and mix the team up a little bit.
