Welbeck farm shop and cafe vie for awards

BOTH ARE AMONG NATION'S BEST

A FARM shop popular for its freshly grown vegetables, locally reared meat and bread baked on the doorstep has been shortlisted as one of the best in the UK.

Welbeck Farm Shop is in the running for large farm shop of the year in the Farm Retail Association's awards.

The accolades champion the best farm shops, pick-your-own sites and farmers’ markets. Welbeck is one of four finalists along with shops in Northumberland, Devon and Ipswich.

Making it a double coup, the Harley Cafe just across the courtyard at the north Notts Welbeck Estate, near Worksop, is vying for the best farm cafe title.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony on Wednesday, March 11, at the Cedar Court Hotel in Harrogate.
