UPSET BY LACK OF AID FROM FACEBOOK AND BANK
A BUSINESSMAN says he has lost more than £50,000 to Facebook scammers who spent it all on adverts for a plant-selling website in Singapore.
Duncan Twigg, 43, boss of car dealership Getabettercar, returned to a financial nightmare after taking a few days off work last month.
When Mr Twigg, who trades on Derby Road in Bramcote, checked his Facebook advertising account on Bank Holiday Monday he was "gobsmacked".
Over a few days the small business would usually spend in the region of £70 on ads, but Mr Twigg said about £57,000 had been spent by hackers who had gained access to his account.
The adverts were aimed at directing people to a Singaporean website selling plants, he said.
