PATERSON LOOKING FOR BETTER BALANCE AFTER BEATING FLEETWOOD

NOTTS County had to win ugly against Fleetwood Town at the weekend, with Magpies head coach Martin Paterson wanting to retain certain parts of the performance and improve others.

A sixth goal in just five League Two matches for Matthew Dennis was enough to see the Magpies through to victory on Saturday, as they kept their first clean sheet since April 2.

Key to that clean sheet and win was a solidity in and around their own box but the Magpies sank into their shell a little too much for Paterson's liking after going ahead in the game.

"It's been the same for the last two weeks at halftime I probably wasn't someone to be around," said Paterson.

"I have got two centre-forwards on for a reason, so when we get into dangerous areas, I'll let you do the maths (about) what I want.
