SIP VEGAN-FRIENDLY COCKTAILS NEXT TO CASTLE

- By LYNETTE PINCHESS lynette.pinchess@reachplc.com @LynettePinchess

EXPERTLY crafted cocktails and wine are at the heart of Nottingham's newest bar, Loose Ends.

The city centre spot couldn't have a better location, with prime views of the castle.

The spot was previously home to French 75, which closed after five years at the top of Friar Lane. The new owners are no strangers to the hospitality business. James and Jennifer Aspell also run tequila bar 400 Rabbits in Hurts Yard in the city and French-style cafe Le Petit Vert in Farnsfield.

They weren't actively looking for a third venue but when they were approached about taking over the empty site, it was too good an opportunity to turn down. After a radiant orange makeover, the new bar opened on Thursday, May 8, with a 20-strong menu of cocktails plus four that are alcohol-free.

Operations manager Julien Latil and general manager Tommi Levitt spent a month in their 'lab' creating the drinks. Making their own syrups and cordials from scratch, there's a strong focus on sustainability, so very little goes to waste.
