Arabian Dusk can take the Chelmer spotlight

ARABIAN Dusk is expected to enjoy dropping back in distance for the bet365 Chelmer Fillies' Stakes at Chelmsford.

The daughter of star sprinter Havana Grey was a smart juvenile over six furlongs last season, scoring in Group Two company and finishing third behind Lake Victoria in the Cheveley Park.

With an Irish 1,000 Guineas entry in the book, Simon and Ed Crisford flirted with the idea of stretching out her stamina by returning in the Nell Gwyn at Newmarket over seven.

Arabian Dusk appeared visually to have done well from two to three and nothing seemed to be going better as she eased her way to the front at the two-furlong pole, but there was little left in the tank once Zanzoun swept impressively past.

Fourth place did not really reflect how well she ran overall, though, so a Listed-class contest back down at six feels like the ideal opportunity to gain a confidence boost.
