DISABLED ARMY VETERAN LAUNCHES FUNDRAISER SO ESSENTIAL IMPROVEMENTS CAN BE MADE
A DISABLED Armed Forces veteran finally has an adequate home after living in unsuitable housing for four years.
David Hubber, known as Aitch, enlisted in the British Army in August 1990. He served in a range of operational, instructional and logistical roles in the Royal Corps of Transport and Royal Logistic Corps, as well as in direct support of the Royal Army Medical Corps and Royal Artillery.
During his 23 years' service, his operations took him all over the UK, as well as abroad in Germany and Canada, and operational deployments in the Balkans, Iraq and Afghanistan.
He was medically discharged in October 2013 due to operational injuries, including degenerative disc disease, asthma and post-traumatic and complex post-traumatic stress disorder.
Despite his service, Aitch, 53, found himself living with an elderly family in a set-up that didn't meet his mobility needs for almost four years.
