Thirds maintain winning start to season

MACCLESFIELD Thirds welcomed Northwich to the Parkside ground and invited the visitors to bat first after skipper Mudasser “Muddy” Panchbhaya won the toss.

Macc got immediate reward with the skipper himself and Suneesh Muraleedharan each bowling the two Northwich openers for ducks. From 4-2 however, Northwich rebuilt the innings and despite losing a couple more wickets found themselves on amuch healthier 134-4 largely due to a fine 72 from Alex Usha.

When Usha fell to a stumping by Mitch Moores of Stephen Whittingham, an innings of 46 from Alex Sefton pushed Northwich onwards towards a possible score of over 200.
