OLYMPIC showjumper Holly Smith was delighted at the performance of her young gelding on his debut at the Al Shira’aa Hickstead Derby meeting.

The 36-year-old rider, of Wymeswold, was at the top of the leaderboard with seven-year-old Nike van het Singraven on the opening day of the meeting.
"I want to be back at the top level again, and this is a horse that doesn't need to be leaving my yard," said Smith, who claimed top honours in the Hickstead Annual Grade C Championship.
