Shops face uncertain futures as firms enters administration

The Original Factory Shop’s stores are facing an uncertain future after the discount retailer fell into administration, putting more than 1,000 jobs at risk nationwide.

The chain, which has a visible high street presence in Lancashire including Garstang, Clitheroe and Lancaster, was acquired in February by investment firm Modella Capital.

Despite what it described as ‘last-ditch attempts’ to rescue the business, Modella confirmed that administration was now the only viable option.
