A TEACHER who was dismissed after allegedly failing to notice pupils were hiding in the toilet has lost her claim for unfair dismissal.
Ruth Lydon worked at St Ciaran's National School, Fuerty, Co Roscommon, but was dismissed from her role by the school's Board of Management in September 2021.
In evidence, principal Rosita Murphy told the WRC in October 2017, Ms Lydon stopped communicating with the other staff and parents.
She added the following month there was ongoing evidence she was unable to discipline or manage her classrooms.
WITNESS
The witness alleged children were hiding in the toilet without Ms Lydon noticing and were walking around the classroom during class.
Ms Murphy further alleged that in March 2018 it was claimed books were thrown in the class room and pupils' belongings were rifled by other kids.
