It's a record baker

YESTERDAY was the hottest day ever recorded in Ireland in the month of April - as parts of the country exceeded highs of 25C.
It was a scorching day across the country, with most counties basking in the 20s right into the evening.
Athenry in Co Galway recorded the hottest temperature at 25.9C - edging out the previous April record of 25.8C reached in Glenties, Co Donegal, in 1984.
Newport in Co Mayo clocked 25.7C, while Mount Dillon, Co Roscommon, and Shannon Airport both hit 25C.
Met Eireann forecaster Rebecca Cantwell said: "Anything over 25C is considered a summer's day, so it's the first summer's day this year - but also the second time ever a summer's day has been recorded in April."
While we won't see such highs over the bank holiday weekend, Rebecca said it will still be settled with sunny spells.
