RECORD numbers of older people are seeking support from ALONE, its annual report revealed yesterday.
The number of people accessing services rose to almost 44,000 last year, with health, housing and financial worries among the primary reasons.
The report was launched yesterday by Minister of State Kieran O'Donnell to coincide with International Older Person's Day.
He said: “The UN estimates that by 2050, 2.1 billion of us will be over 60. We need a serious and rational approach to what that means for housing, healthcare and the way we live.
