Emma has so little experience of real life she's ignorant of how ignorant she actually is

JK ROWLING has hit back at Emma Watson accusing her of being "ignorant of how ignorant she is" in their continuing feud over trans issues.

The Harry Potter author suggested Watson’s public criticism of her gender critical stance had served to “pour more petrol on the flames” of the abuse she has suffered.

Rowling also dismissed the actress's recent claim that she “still treasures” her by accusing her of “cosying up to an activist movement which regularly calls for a friend's assassination”.

In a withering attack, Edinburgh-based Rowling stormed: “Like other people who've never experienced adult life uncushioned by wealth and fame, Emma has so little experience of real life, she’s ignorant of how ignorant she is.”

She said of Watson and fellow actor Daniel Radcliffe: “Years after they finished acting in Potter, they continue to assume the role of de facto spokespeople for the world I created”.

Last week Watson, who played Hermione Granger in the eight films based on Rowling's books between 2001 and 2011, said she still loves Rowling and refuses to “cancel her out”, despite their public disagreements.

She was one of several Potter stars who criticised Rowling's views in 2020 when the author sparked a row by speaking out against trans activism, saying it had eroded the concept of biological sex.

Rowling was accused of being transphobic, which she denied, saying she was worried about the effect on women in single-sex spaces.

But yesterday, on X, she wrote: "I'm not owed eternal agreement from any actor who once played a character I created.
