Amber warnings ramped up to warn of more blizzards but heavy snow brings fun end to the holidays for kids

ROADS across Scotland were closed off yesterday after heavy snow blasted the country with more to come today.

Amber weather warnings were expanded after coming into force in parts of the country, as forecasters warned of severe conditions and travel disruption.

Two separate amber warnings for heavy snow in part of the Highlands and northeast Scotland came into force at midday yesterday, while a yellow warning of snow and ice covered as far south as Angus and Perthshire.
