Shinnie tells Dons to park egos and roll sleeves up as life after axed Thelin looms

ALL for one and none for all.

The motto which Graeme Shinnie admits is at the heart of Aberdeen's struggles as they start their search for a new manager.

The skipper delivered a blunt assessment of yet another deplorable display in defeat at Falkirk, one which was all about a team of individuals.

When words like a lack of “desire”, “fight” and a soon to be ex-manager claiming his players need to park their ego permeate a press conference, you know the issues lie deep.

This Dons outfit have taken only one point from their last four Premiership encounters.

Jimmy Thelin was scathing about the effort shown by a side needing to look themselves in the mirror and Shinnie was first to echo those sentiments just 24 hours before the axe fell on the Swede ahead of tomorrow's trip to Ibrox.

Shinnie said: “We want to be playing more as a team. When you haven't scored a lot of goals, players want to do their own thing and try to be that one who's doing it.

“But football is a team game, you can't win games on your own. The team needs to be at the forefront and the only way you will win games is playing as a team.
