IT'S ALL GOOD FOR FUTURE

JIM GOODWIN insists the good times at Tannadice are only getting started after extending his Dundee United deal.

The Irishman had a year left on his contract, having been appointed in the first half of 2023.

But he has now signed a 12-month rolling contract, having been linked with several clubs south of the border this past summer.

Goodwin delivered areturn to European football in Tayside last season with a fourth-placed finish in the Premiership.

He then watched his team put in a valiant display against Rapid Vienna in qualifying for the Conference League before they bowed out on penalties.

United have been knocked out of the Premier Sports Cup but got their first league win of the campaign before the international break with a 2-0 victory in the derby at Dens.

And the former Aberdeen boss - who guided United to the Championship title the season before last - is adamant his team can build on their success over the last 12 months.
