Tourist panic as menace targets Spanish beach
SHOCKED beachgoers on the holiday isle of Menorca were banned from the water after a shark was spotted off shore.
Tourists were stunned as the fin of a 7ft blue shark poked out the sea at Arenal d'en Castell beach.
Lifeguards, who began monitoring the popular beach a week ago, hoisted the red flag, called emergency services and closed the beach.
The shark was spotted around 3.30pm, swimming from one side of the bay to the other. The sighting on Monday is believed to be the first this year near a Balearic beach.
