LAST YEAR'S runner-up Vanillier took over as favourite for the £1million Randox Grand National after the big race weights were published yesterday.
The Gavin Cromwell-trained grey overtook several rivals from the last fence to finish just two and a half lengths behind the winner Corach Rambler.
And with Co. Meath-based Cromwell having already saddled 11 jumps winners in Britain this season at a 25 per cent strike rate, the bookies were taking no chances with his big Aintree challenger.
