It has now emerged as a strong rural enterprise in the states of Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, West Bengal and North Eastern. Plans like National Beekeeping and Honey Mission (NBHM) have also proved to be a milestone in this direction. Under the self-reliant India campaign in the year 2020, a special package of Rs 500 crore was declared for the same.
