EDWARD STEPHENS CZECHS OUT ONE EL’ OF A CLEVER CAR
-
SKODA'S “simply clever” programme seems to have hit new heights in its newest SUV, the Elroq.
And while it may not be the car’s biggest selling point the well thought out boot area certainly makes day to day living much simpler - particularly visits to the supermarket.
The “simply clever” idea started by putting an umbrella into the door sill of every Skoda - an idea shared only with Rolls-Royce.
Since then the Czech carmaker has gone on to add numerous other clever features which make living with a Skoda more comfortable, like a clip on the windscreen to secure your parking ticket and hooks in the boot to hang shopping bags on.
So when a new Elroq was delivered to my door and I opened the tailgate I could see the “simply clever” gnomes had been at it again.
Along with the aforementioned hooks there were two compartments on either side, a netted area on the underside of the tailgate capable of holding three kilos of items and a 'hammock' strung across the main opening.
