Anger over outspoken star at popular venue

ANTI-RACISM campaigners have slated a Birmingham venue which regularly hosts multi-cultural weddings and conferences for backing a tour appearance by controversial far-right commentator Katie Hopkins.
The H Suite in Edgbaston is under fire for taking the booking for a leg of Hopkins’ UK stand-up tour, called Batsh*t Bonkers Britain.
It markets itself as a venue for weddings and events including specialist Asian and Caribbean cultural events and has a reputation for embracing and championing the city’s multicultural population.
In contrast Hopkins, has made a living from her controversial views on race and immigration, among other things, and has repeatedly condemned the Islamic faith.
Birmingham Race Impact Group (BRIG) and Stand Up To Racism have jointly called for the event on Friday, June 27, to be cancelled.
One of those protesting is Noori Awan, whose late father, Nazir, features in one of the promotional photographs on the venue's website.
