Assoc Prof Yodchanan, 46, is the eldest son of former premier Somchai Wongsawat and Yaowapha Wongsawat, Thaksin's sister. A PhD graduate from the University of Texas at Arlington, he is widely recognised as a researcher specialising in brain-computer interface (BCI) technology.
