The introduction of South Ayrshire's six-figure 'talking bins' scheme has sparked a row between Ayr SNP MSP Siobhian Brown and the local authority's Conservative Leader, Martin Dowey.
A war of words has broken out between the politicians over precisely who sanctioned the controversial scheme.
More than £400,000 has been spent by the council installing the solar compaction bins on promenades throughout the area.
