Sanjeev Bhaskar and Nicola Walker tackle another cold case in the new series of award-winning crime drama Unforgotten

NEW CRIME DRAMA
Unforgotten
Sunday, ITV HD, 9pm
It’s often the case that the second series of a TV drama will fail to live up to the first. But BAFTA-winning crime drama Unforgotten managed that with ease last year with another gripping cold case that had an almighty twist at the end.
So there are high hopes for another triumph as Nicola Walker and Sanjeev Bhaskar return as DCI Cassie Stuart and DI Sunil ‘Sunny’ Khan for a third series this week.
This time, the duo investigates when human remains are found on the central reservation of the M1 motorway. The body is identified as Hayley Reid, a 16-year-old who vanished on New Year’s Eve 1999, the turn of the millennium.
Meanwhile, we also meet four old school friends in local GP Dr Tim Finch, TV presenter James Hollis, salesman Pete Carr and artist Chris Lowe. Do they know anything about Hayley’s death?
We spoke to Walker and Bhaskar to find out more…
How does this third series of Unforgotten compare with the previous two?
