ITV’s new thriller Liar, one of two dramas this week from The Missing creators Harry and Jack Williams (see page 4), explores the devastating consequences of one terrible evening in the lives of school teacher Laura Nielson (Joanne Froggatt) and surgeon Andrew Earlham (Ioan Gruffudd).

As the six-part psychological drama starts, Laura gets chatting to charming widower Andrew, one of the parents at her school.
