In the midst of 2015, Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Banno Tera Swagger’ suddenly topped the charts and the whole country was humming the number. Everyone wondered who the man behind this composition was. Surprisingly, it was the work of a newcomer and with his first song alone he had stolen everyone’s hearts. Wedding Affair caught up with this latest music sensation in a candid conversation.

“My life is nothing but music,” is what Tanishk Bagchi believes in. He is someone who has surrendered his heart and soul to music and believes that the sole purpose of his life is to deluge himself in this form of art. It may come as a surprise, despite his undying love for music, a career in this field wasn’t something that he had planned for. As a child he dreamed of becoming a pilot. Growing up with a cousin who was an aeronaut, Bagchi was fascinated by his profession. He may have loved music since he was a little child, but it wasn’t something that he wanted to take up professionally and there was a reason behind it. Bagchi confessed, “When I was young, I thought in a country like India, music can only be feasible as a hobby. People are afraid of becoming musicians because there are no monetary benefits in it. With so much competition, the scope is very limited and it can be very frustrating.”
