In an age that is so digital, so much more competitive, where the latest news enters our eyes in fractions of an instant, all we want is to have the time and freedom to (re)dress our days. So many people want to tell us (or influence us) about what to wear, what to eat, where to go, that it becomes inevitable not to talk about freedom. Welcome to issue 80 of TRENDS. Where there are plenty of trends. And there have been so many conversations. From architecture to design, from fashion to engines. So many names and brands that are at the cutting edge of evolution, are showcased here. Through images, which convey the splendour of what’s new, and messages (as well as journeys), which serve as inspiration. An example of this is João Vieira, architect and founder of Studio JV, whose story is intertwined with countless projects and countries; Andreia Louraço, interior designer and founder of the studio bearing her name, who is convinced that “interior design projects really can change lives”; Frederico Albergaria, founder of Cobermaster, who goes beyond dreaming to making things happen, as demonstrated by his patented invention of three-dimensional grating, which makes him the only manufacturer of this type of product in the world; and Yiqing Yin, one of the youngest fashion designers, who is already part of the world of Haute Couture and is the face of Vacheron Constantin’s ‘One of not many’ campaign.
