'I make the most of every day'

I've always been a positive person and make the most of every day, but losing my brother Charles three-and-ahalf years ago turbocharged the attitude of, 'I have the privilege of being here and he doesn't.' It's a reminder of how precious family and life are.
Even on mornings when I wake up and feel a bit sluggish, I think, 'Get your backside out of the door and into some fresh air.' It can be quite meditative, and I never come back without feeling like a fresh, happy person who is ready to hit the day.
Having a dog is a wonderful excuse to get out into nature and move my body. I've got a crazy little Labrador called Luna. She is three-and-ahalf years, going on three months, and uber fit. She will not eat breakfast until she's done 5km, so that means I have to do 5km too.
