Henry adored Angela – so why 'was she behaving so strangely?
Maybe today would be back to normal. Things couldn't go on like this for much longer. He was getting really worried.
Henry made his way into the kitchen and eyed her nervously. She was doing it again. Avoiding eye contact, slamming doors, sudden crying, checking her phone a lot.
It was getting worse! He had hoped for an improvement this morning - always the optimist!
Angela normally told him everything, but for the past few days a wall seemed to have gone up around her that he couldn't penetrate.
Judging by her mood, Henry guessed there would be no cosy breakfast together, so he decided to leave her to it, whatever it was. However, he was reluctant to leave her in this state, so he tried just one more time to touch her. Angela recoiled from him and it felt like a stab to the heart. He looked into her face, hoping to see a flicker of something at least a little familiar or reassuring. Nothing. They were usually so close.
