Janet Street-Porter on the Loose Women changes, her frosty relationship with her mum, and why she's going it alone again after 20 years

Janet Street-Porter is no stranger to controversy. As one of the most outspoken members of the Loose Women lineup, she's never afraid to air her views, even if they result in clashes with fellow panellists.

But there's so much more to the four-times married 78-year-old, as we found out when we caught up with the media legend for an exclusive frank and funny chat.

I wrote a one-woman show where I ranted and raved about my mother and our relationship. I performed it at the Edinburgh Festival and then I toured it in 2005, which I can't believe was 20 years ago. When we did our Loose Women tour, I really enjoyed it and it made me want to do a one-woman show again. I'm bringing it up to date because I've added a new chapter to my book that the tour is based on, Baggage, about how I feel about the relationship with my mother now. I've got a whole new generation of people to bring it to.
