When Adam proposed after nine years together in February 2024, we planned on getting hitched at my temple, but we quickly discovered it didn't have the relevant licence at the time. 'You can have a blessing, though,' my temple minister told us. The more I thought about it, I loved the idea of a big celebration with friends, then getting married somewhere by the sea in a more intimate ceremony.

So in August 2024, I slipped on a patterned designer dress and we had our blessing at my temple in west London.
